They won't be any harder than the old ones, that's for sure - although the previous ones did have a bit of 'park bench charm' to them. Let's hope they fix the verbosity of the ASA system, though … I can't read with someone constantly shouting at me :-)

Comment on New Blue Line Car Inaugural

The new cars look great overall! I agree, those slick seats will be a major talking point as soon as they are launched, and I’m really surprised the danger wasn't picked up and the design modified even during the materials selection phase. Modernism is great, but not at the expense of safety. Other than that, the ‘cons’ seem eminently fixable :-)

Comment on New Blue Line Car Inaugural

I wonder how many of these guys travel on a train regularly enough to be aware of other problems.

Comment on New Blue Line Car Inaugural

You're right - most of the problems you mention are purely cosmetic. Programming can be tweaked as soon as there is enough data to suggest that a majority of users want it - even the interior upholstery can be modified pretty easily. They look great!

Comment on New Blue Line Car Inaugural

Thanks for this post it's great for what I was looking for.

Comment on New Blue Line Car Inaugural

Really appreciate this post.
